Supervisor and Cannabis Readiness Awareness Training Edmonton

Date(s) - 23/Apr/2020
8:00 am - 12:00 pm

CannAmm will be offering an interactive and informative discussion forum for managers, supervisors, or employees with responsibility for workplace safety. Our training programs are developed and delivered by some of the most experienced and knowledgeable people in the drug and alcohol testing field today.

Cannabis Readiness Awareness Training Course Description:

Cannabis in the workplace is a rapidly emerging and highly contentious issue. The Canadian Government has legalized cannabis for non-medical recreational use. The topic of cannabis access and its use is sensitive, complex, and highly polarized with issues and implications for health and safety.

Employers have questions about how to respond to this new landscape. What changes are necessary for current policies and procedures? What if employees’ recreational use off-duty affects workplace performance?

This part of the session focuses on helping employers to understand the changes, the implications for health and safety, and to provide guidance on how to manage these challenges in safety-sensitive industries.

Supervisor Drug & Alcohol Awareness Training Course Description:

This part of the session is intended for front-line supervisors with a responsibility for recognizing safety risks in the workplace and requesting reasonable cause drug and alcohol testing of employees.

CannAmm believes that in order for companies to be successful in the administration of their drug and alcohol policy, supervisors should be trained in the industry best practices.

Supervisors are responsible for recognizing when employees are not working safely, and after making observations, requesting Reasonable Cause testing of these employees. This course provides Supervisors with the knowledge required to effectively make and document observations and appropriately determine the need for Reasonable Cause testing.

This course meets and exceeds the United States Department of Transportation (DOT) Supervisor training requirements.
